On Saturday, May 21, 2022, over 1,000 Danbury residents gathered for the annual Celebration of Danbury Arts (CoDA) festival.

The CoDA festival was started in 2009 under our former Arts Coordinator, in an effort to further highlight Danbury students' work in the Fine and Performing Arts. The mission of the CoDA festival is to enhance the creativity and social-emotional well-being of Danbury Public School students.

This year, the event is held at Broadview Middle School where art from Danbury elementary, middle and high schools was showcased. In addition to the art displaces event-goers also enjoyed live performances from Danbury's elementary choir, elementary band, string students, the Broadview Middle School studio band, and the middle school orchestra.

Building on the experiences students have in art and music class, CoDA fosters connections through the arts in a community setting. The event also featured local vendors and nonprofit organizations.“CoDA was a much-needed event for our school community. It brought families and our school district together. I appreciate all those who participated and ensured that this event happened,” stated Rachelle Wade, K-8 Art Department Head.

“This event is such a positive event for our students,” stated Superintendent Kevin Walston. “You can feel the excitement in the air as we showcase our students' amazing talent. This event is not just for our families, it’s for the entire Danbury community.”
