Danbury Public Schools: Summit ~
Gifted and Talented Program

Danbury, Connecticut

Summit Program

This program provides expanded educational opportunities for gifted and talented students in grades 4 and 5 and at the middle schools. Students are identified for the program in grade three and begin Summit in grade 4.

The Summit program on the elementary level is taught and coordinated by the Summit teacher, Sara Dube. Students from Danbury's elementary schools are transported to Mill Ridge Intermediate School to meet with other Summit students from other Danbury Schools.

Each middle school has a Summit teacher that works with identified students. George Hockspung at Rogers Park and Paul Gerhardt at Broadview use a variety of instructional practices with the Summit students.
