How much audio can I use? 
Up to 30 seconds only OR 10% of the work, whichever is less. 

  If an audio clip is LONGER than 5 minutes, you may use up to 30 seconds of it. 

  If a video is SHORTER than 5 minutes, you can use up to 10% of it.

Can I use someone else’s audio in my project?
As long as you or your teacher will NOT post it on the Internet, the rules are:
 
  1.  Must be LEGAL(not bootleg) copies of:
•    Records
•    Cassette tapes
•    CD’s
•    Audio clips on the web or iTunes
 
  1.  You must  cite your source to give proper credit.
 
  1.  You must follow the requirements in the  box on the right.

Example #1: A voice recording, 2 minutes long
 2 X 60 = 120 seconds.
  10% of this is 12 seconds, which is LESS than 30 seconds
    You may use up to 12 seconds of this audio clip.

Example #2: A song you bought is 6 minutes long

   This music is longer than 5 minutes, so...
    You may use up to 30 seconds of this music.
What about lyrics?
Lyrics are copyright protected, but fall into the Text category.
