Welcome
The Interdistrict Magnet School offers special programs and student enrollment to area students in Grades K - 5. The school is hosted by Danbury Public Schools. Partner districts are Brookfield, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, and New Milford.
The early years of elementary school are crucial to the way children define the world and their place in it. The Western Connecticut Academy for International Studies is an innovative and challenging elementary magnet school designed to begin preparing children in Grades K through 5 to live and thrive in a global community.
Our International Studies theme is centered around the concept of peace and our role as peace-keepers in the world. We offer a Spanish Instruction Program beginning in Kindergarten and a technology-rich environment including student laptop computers for each grade level and Promethean interactive whiteboards.
Applications for the 2010-2011 school year are available at www.danbury.k12.ct.us. The application deadline of Friday, January 22,2010 has passed. Students names submitted after the deadline will be added to the end of the waiting list.
