A Community of Learners in Danbury, Connecticut

This is an important message from the Health and Nursing Services Department of the Danbury Public Schools.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health reports that influenza activity has been increasing across the state and is now at a high level. It is not too late to get a flu vaccine. You can obtain a flu shot from your doctor's office and many local pharmacies. Also, Western Connecticut Home Care, located at 4 Liberty Street in Danbury, will have a walk-in flu clinic on Wednesday, January 16th from 2 PM to 6 PM.

To help with preventing the spread of infection, please practice careful handwashing, cover your cough and sneeze, and stay home if you are sick and experiencing flu like symptoms. Children must be free of fever for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications such as Tylenol or Advil, before they can return to school.

Please contact your school nurse if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping yourselves and your children healthy.
