Family Literacy Center  “FLC”
 

The Family Literacy Center, located at 49 Osborne Street, offers a variety of FREE resources and programs to families to help promote literacy.


At the Center, parents can use our Parent Resource Room, to -

  1. borrow from a large selection of fiction & non-fiction books in English and Spanish for children of all ages

  2. borrow resource materials to use with children

  3. use our laptop computers, i-pads, and Promethean board to work on-line on a variety of programs

  4. attend workshops on a variety of topics


The Center also has a fully-equipped early childhood classroom, where children and their parents/care-givers can play together.

The mission of the Family Literacy Center is to provide literacy experiences for children birth to age 6 and their families to improve their children’s success in school.

By developing skills and knowledge in literacy and health, and changing behaviors and attitudes towards healthy living, the Family Literacy Center will realize its vision that all children will be ready and successful in school.
